Here we have a gorgeous masterpiece from luthier/inlay artist Harvey Leach. As you know, Harvey is a bit of a legend in the inlay world. His artwork has been featured on some of the most important Martin guitars ever built!
This guitar was hand built by Harvey himself and features some gorgeous inlays!
The back and sides of this guitar are built from mahogany harvested from The Tree. The Tree is perhaps the most famous piece of lumber ever harvested. It produced some of the best pieces of figured mahogany the world has ever seen. It is more desirable (and expensive) even than Brazilian rosewood.
The top of the guitar is built from wood salvaged from the home Harvey grew up in. The home was built in 1835 in Vermont. It is believed to be balsam fir.
The fretboard is jet-black ebony.
This is a gorgeous guitar and one built by a legend.
